Project Matchmaker is my submission for the Code for a Cause x Micro Jam #4 - Charity Jam. The theme for the jam was 'Building Bridges' so I planned to create a game where you build bridges between others, aka, forming relationships. 

In this game, you play as two lovebirds with a range of interests and dislikes meeting on a dating app. After pairing up, they find themselves stumbling over their words, and that's where you come in to help. Dates play out over multiple turns with both sides going back and forth deciding what to talk about. Thought bubbles will appear for you to select that pertain to the various likes and dislikes each character has, and it's up to you to choose what to select the options that will best help in increasing affection for the receiving party. 

When you max out both character's affections, the date will be a success and you'll be rewarded a heart, and both characters will grow more confident, leading to any future dates they go on needing more affection to succeed. Not to worry as you have various charms to equip and bring to dates that impact the way you select words. It's up to you to strategize these dates and hopefully form some strong connections for these lovely six.

Controls

Mouse / Left Mouse Click - Hover over options and press the mouse button to confirm

Tab and Escape - In the dating portion, you can click the Tab button to restart the current date or press the Escape key to turn back to the main menu
